Rogers TV Rolls Out Custom Control Shot Box in Time for Canada Day National Broadcast

Iroquois, ON Canada – July 2, 2008 – Rogers TV, Cable 22 in Ottawa, improves its broadcast operations with the upgrade of Mobile Digital Production Truck in time for a major national broadcast.

By deploying the new Custom Control Shot Box module for its Ross Video Vision 4 production switcher, Rogers TV Ottawa can execute complex switcher event sequences at the touch of a button. The Custom Control Shot Box module for the Vision QMD/X family of switchers was launched at NAB in April 2008.

“The switcher upgrade was a breeze and will allow us to further boost the production quality of our broadcasts,” said Pierre Fortin, Rogers TV’s Director, Planning and Engineering. “The timing of the upgrade couldn’t have been better since we are producing major live coverage of Canada Day celebrations from Parliament Hill on July 1st. Our Technical Directors will benefit from the simple launch of complicated video effects and our viewers will enjoy the cool visuals.”

The new Custom Control Shot Box module is one of many options offered by Ross Video for the Vision line of production switchers. The modularity of the switcher design offers great flexibility in the placement of components. Technical Directors can position the modules where they will best suit their own operations. The modularity of the design also facilitates simple field upgrades to existing units.
