Carbonite Black+ Frames

Support for Carbonite Black, Black Plus and Black 12G Models

This Update adds new Shift MultiViewer feature and the support for ViewControl NDI mode (requires external SDI to NDI converter)
 
 
This download contains all of the documents and Software that can be used on the Carbonite Black Series of switchers. These are the 36 Input Frame Models and include the UltraChromeHR chromakeyer that uses the same Hardware Platform.
 
 
Includes Carbonite Black Version 15 for SD/HD/1080p Video Modes.
 
Includes Carbonite Black UHD Version 14.0.0 for UHD Video Modes (Note this version only supports UHD Video Mode — and only runs on Carbonite Black Series). It will not install or run on the 16/24 Input Carbonite, Plus, MultiMedia or eXtreme models).
 

Includes UltraChromeHR version 1.0.0 for running the UltraChromeHR software.
 

Includes Mosaic Version 1.1.0 for running the Mosaic software.
 

Note: You can switch any Carbonite Black back and forth between these modes by running the upgrade using the desired software. The following feature set is included in a base unit with options that can be added. Each switcher stores its licenses internally and will enable the additional purchased items for each platform.
 

Example turning a unit purchased as a Carbonite 2 or 3 ME switcher into an UltraChromeHR will result in a system that has 2 ChromaKeyers, If the license for the additional Key 3 and Key 4 have been purchased then those will be enabled. If those licenses were not purchased then access to only 2 keyers will be available. A UltraChromeHR with 4 Keyers that loads the Carbonite SD/HD/3G software will then be a 2 ME Carbonite Black switcher. If there was a license for the Third ME then that will also become active otherwise it will need to be added if a 3ME switcher is desired.
 

Standard Modes and Options:

• Carbonite Black Series comes standard with 2 Full MEs and 4 MiniMEs in SD/HD/3G. ME 3 is an additional license.
• UHD Mode is 1 Full ME with 2 MiniMEs and no additional options for MEs or MiniMEs.
• UltraChromeHR has 2 ChromaKeyers standard. Additional software licenses for Keyer 3 and Keyer 4 may be purchased.

 

Warning: Upgrading to version 15 prevents the downgrade to version 10.1 or older. Once you have upgraded to you will not be able to go back!
 

Upgrading to version 11.0, or higher, from a version lower than 11.0 requires a special upgrade of the switcher. This upgrade will take significantly longer than normal upgrades (about 15 minutes longer) and requires a 2GB, or larger , USB for temporary storage during the upgrade. If there is a failure during the upgrade, your settings may be lost. It is important to save your switcher settings and record the current IP address.
 

Note: DON’T START THE UPGRADE PROCESS AN HOUR BEFORE YOU NEED TO GO TO AIR, if at all possible. While we’ve made every effort to make the process smooth and maintain compatibility, we may have “tweaked” a feature that you use. Leave time to verify that your installation and memories are still working the way you intended. Some effects may need to be rebuilt.
 

When upgrading systems with Carbonite Black panel you will see a message on the panel that there is a version mismatch. Follow upgrade instructions in order to upgrade the panel via Dashboard using the attached .bin file. This does not apply to standard Carbonite panels.

All of the CF-XXX frames have the full 24 BNCs on them. This applies to the -PLUS and -MM (MultiMedia) frames as well. These models are offered in 1ME and 2ME with 16 or 24 inputs. There are Software licenses that can be added to unlock the extra inputs if ordered originally as a CF-x16 model. Software licenses for MEs are also available. Frames ordered as CF-1xx models have 1 ME but can be upgraded to 2 MEs with a license.

Carbonite eXtreme are all 2ME 24 Internal Input switchers.
