City of Costa Mesa Builds New Council Chambers Featuring Ross Carbonite and XPression

The city of Costa Mesa, located in Orange County, California, recently completed a renovation project involving their city council chambers, master control room, conference room, and community room. This project included an upgraded audio/video system, broadcast production infrastructure, and a network connecting the different rooms.

The heart of their new setup is their master control room, which features state-of-the-art video production with the Ross Carbonite production switcher and Ross XPression motion graphic system. The master control room contains a full broadcast production system that powers Costa Mesa Television, the city’s 24/7 public access TV channel. This is where live meetings from the city council chambers and community room are broadcast to the rest of the city.

The council chambers also received an upgrade, which included new cameras, digital signage, a voting system, LED lighting, document scanners and furniture. The chambers are used to host meetings for the city council, planning commissions, and parks and recreation commission. Renovations were also made to the city’s conference and community rooms, including new AV systems, projectors, and more.

The master control room, council chambers, community room and conference room are all connected to the city’s IT department. Once the renovations were complete, all users of the systems, including the city council members themselves, were trained on how to use them.
